About
Rui Jun Mei
I’m a UX/UI Designer from Amsterdam, currently based in Shanghai, designing user-focused digital products for startups, agencies, and large organizations.
Previously, I worked at RTL Nederland, where I was part of two product teams at Videoland, one of the largest streaming platforms in the Netherlands.
In the Landing team, I focused on creating intuitive and engaging landing experiences — including the home and title pages — helping users discover content effortlessly and get excited about the product.
Within the Onboarding team, I optimized the subscription and payment flows to make the sign-up process seamless and conversion-driven.
Collaborating closely with UX researchers, CRO specialists, marketers, developers, and product owners, I’ve built a strong foundation in user-centered design, A/B testing, and data-informed decision-making.
I’m currently open to freelance remote projects, helping teams craft clear, human-centered experiences that balance business goals with user needs.
How I got here
I started doing graphic design in 2012 as a hobby, which I managed to turn into a small business. As my interest in graphic design slowly faded, my interest in UX / UI design began to grow.
I studied Communication and Multimedia design whereafter I began working as a UX / UI designer.
